Writing About Vampires - An LDS Author's Perspective

Ladies and gentlemen, Ronnell D. Porter has done it again. He blew my mind with the cover for Blood And Guitars, and I really didn't expect to love another cover as much as I love that one. You can imagine my pleasant surprise. The official cover reveal happened over at Vampchix. Thanks again to Michele for doing the reveal! I've had a tremendous response from readers and other authors about how amazing the new cover really is. I want to point out my favorite part of it but I love everything about it equally. The guy is a great representation of Trey and he wears the guitar with ease and confidence like I imagine Trey would. The blood cells floating around are just spectacular. I couldn't have dreamed up a better idea for the cover than this.
I added a countdown to the site today to make it easier to keep track of Immortals And Melodies coming to Kindle, and I had this strange moment tonight when it really hit me how close that day is! Part of me wants it to hurry and come and the more reasonable (albeit quieter) part of me is grateful for the span of time because I still have a lot to do before that day comes. For now, I'll just enjoy the cover and keep working. I'd love to hear see your comments on the cover below!
Michele over at Vampchix has most generously agreed to reveal the cover of Immortals And Melodies on Saturday! I'm so excited to show you all the book's cover. I couldn't be happier with Ronnell and his amazing work. I've had the best reaction to the cover for Blood And Guitars, and this one will not disappoint. He really captured exactly what kind of image I needed the cover to portray. And Team Trey fans will be very pleased to know that he graces the cover of book 2!
If you want to head on over to Vampchix. you can bookmark the site now so you'll know where to go come Saturday. Also, I'll be sending out reminders and a few teaser lines from Immortals And Melodies for the next few days on Twitter. If you don't already, be sure to follow my tweets here.
I can't wait for Saturday's big reveal to come. I hope you'll all join me at Vampchix to celebrate being one step closer to the release of Immortals And Melodies!
Now on the sidebar (left) there's a box where you can add your email address to subscribe to updates from me. You'll receive an email notification when news is added to the site. This is the easiest way to stay on top of everything Blood And Guitars related. It is an automated setup so I won't be sharing your email address with spammer or anything. I promise.
I'd post it now but I'm doing a special cover reveal on another site. I'll be posting details about that very soon. Ronnell D. Porter did an amazing job with this one, just as he did for Blood And Guitars. The book covers are each unique but go together so well. They really fine works of art that even Aurora would be proud to display. I'll be back with news about the cover reveal soon. Until then!
Here is just a little of what Laura had to say about the book:
"I believe this book has broad appeal and will be enjoyed by both teens and adults alike and also by fans of different book genres."
"The romance between the two main characters is sweet, clean and engaging. I would recommend this book to fans of fantasy, romance and music based books of all ages."
"I look forward to seeing what happens next for Trey and Aurora in the second of what seems to be a promising series of books."
A big shout out to Laura for reviewing the book, and to all the lovely people at Readers Favorite!
It has an authentic Marshall Amp head and cabinet facing but actually opens up to reveal more than 4 cubic feet of cold storage space. I don't know about you, but if I ever get that home studio I've been talking about for ten years, I'll want one of these next to my mixing board. You'd be the coolest kid on campus if you were sporting this Marshall accessory in the dorms.
Marshall claims you'll be able to get your hands on one starting in October for an introductory price of $299 USD. Click the source link to sign up for email updates. Until then, click the Marshall Just Got Cooler link for a little promo video Marshall did for it. Enjoy!

My emotions are all jumbled about it, though. I'm relieved, especially since I need to turn it in for a round of edits in a few days, but I'm also a little sad. It's not the end of the series, so that helps, but it's hard turning something loose that you've poured your heart and soul into for over a year. In the end, I know it will all be worth it when I hear from readers that they're enjoying continuing Trey and Aurora's adventure with them.
To all of you who have been asking on Twitter and Facebook, I'm planning to release the e-book as soon as May. The print version will be out no later than July. I'm hoping to do a cover reveal soon so I'll be back with news of that. I'm really excited to share this installment of the series with all of you, and hope that you'll enjoy reading it as much as I've enjoying creating it.
