Blood And Guitars Goes KDP Select … for now.

You read that right.

I'm trying something, after much antagonizing. I'm enrolling both eBooks in the Blood And Guitars series in the KDP Select program for at least one enrollment period. 90 days. I haven't enrolled them yet, as I'm still waiting for Blood And Guitars to be removed from other online booksellers' websites. I won't know until sometime in March when the enrollment period ends whether or not I'll re-enroll them again. I'd actually like to enroll them both until March, and then make them both available on Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, iBooks and the other retailers for my readers who don't have access to a Kindle or Kindle-friendly device. That is the tentative plan for now. I'll be posting updates when I have them. For now, you won't be able to find either book on Smashwords, Barnes And Noble, Kobo, or iBooks.

Once the KDP Select enrollment starts, Amazon Prime members will be able to borrow both of the books for free during that enrollment period. Book marketing is a strange monster and I'm still learning as I go, but I want to thank all of you for your continued support as I navigate the waters.

It's finally here.

The day of my first KDP Select Promo.

The promotion is actually running today and tomorrow. You can get your copy for free at the book's Amazon page HERE.

The price of the first book, Blood And Guitars, is still .99, as it has been since the second book was released. You can get your copy of that for your kindle HERE.

I'm really curious to see how this promo goes. My main goal, and the reason I decided to go with KDP for 90 days to begin with, is that I want to get the books in the hands of readers. I'm hoping that this free promo will do that. As for sales after the promo, we'll just have to wait and see.

Immortals And Melodies is getting great reviews and averages a rating of 4 stars on Amazon. The response has been great so far and I'm looking forward to seeing what the rest of the week will bring. I'll post an update later with my promo results. Until then, snag your free copy if you don't already have it and tell all of your friends!

Today is the last day of the week-long Blood And Guitars tour!

It's been a wild ride, and I've loved every minute of it.

Tomorrow brings it's own kind of crazy.

Tomorrow is the official book-blitz release of Immortals And Melodies. While the book has been doing great, staying in the top 100 of 1 or 2 Amazon categories on and off, tomorrow is the day we really spread the word!

The Full Fang interviewed me yesterday as part of my book tour.

Here's a little taste of the interview:

BT: What inspired you to write your first book?

HJ: I was lucky enough to travel to historic Europe when I was 16. I’ve always been fascinated by the dark ages and medieval history, but visiting the castles and historic landmarks really inspired me to start writing about it. I wrote my first novel, The Rift, because of that trip. I can still remember exactly which chapters in the book were written on the long plane-ride home

BT: Which do you prefer to write – full length novels or short stories?

HJ: I’ve always been prolific so I tend to write only novels. Even as a kid my stories grew and grew until they were considerably too long to call a short story BT: Do you have a specific writing style?

HJ: I think I write at my best when I write in first person point-of-view, but aside from that, my author’s voice is uniquely me and doesn’t change from story to story

BT: How do you come up with the titles for your stories?

HJ: My husband named my first novel, The Rift, which I didn’t publish until after I was married. The Blood And Guitars series was easy, since I was just combining my love for music and vampires, and I wanted the title to be catchy and edgy. I get a lot of comments about how much people love the title, and I’m just happy people have the same passionate response to it that I do. After I chose Blood And Guitars, the other titles for the rest of the books in the series just came naturally

Release Day is Here At Last!

I never thought the day would come!

Immortals And Melodies (Blood And Guitars #2) is finally available for Kindle.

The last few weeks just seemed to drag on, but finally the day has come! Thank you to everyone who has been tweeting and leaving messages on Facebook to share your excitement about the book's release. Your excitement only fueled my own. This process has been as new and scary as it has been familiar. This is my first time releasing the second book in a series. There have been some challenges that come with a series that I didn't expect, but the rewards are far better than I could have imagined as well.

Braine from Talk Supe was kind enough to review an Advanced Copy of Immortals And Melodies.

Here's some of what she had to say:

A rock star and a vampire, that's the love match in Heather Jensen's Blood and Guitars series. In book 2, Immortals and Melodies, lovers Trey and Aurora are testing the strength of their relationship. We witness them fight for survival from vampires who are against their uncanny relationship and duck the prying eyes of the public.
I like Trey's "new" attitude, he was a little laid back in Blood and Guitars but in Immortals and Melodies he's wittier and adapting well with Wes' death and the constant life threats from vampires. Just one of the perks of being in a relationship with one. Aurora for her part has mellowed a bit but still protective of Trey, always having his back and being his number one supporter. It's so hard to talk about this vaguely because there's a LOT of things that happened in this book that I don't want to reveal otherwise I'll spoil it for the series' followers. Let's just say that Immortals and Melodies didn't suffer from the "middle child syndrome" but instead laid out the groundwork for book 3. *wink*
